The Green near Farringdon station in London is a great gastropub. I am continually disappointed when I go out for a Sunday roast but finally I have found somewhere that meets my expectations! Roast beef- pink all the way through with horseradish and watercress and pork- moist and tender served with braised red cabbage. Yorkshire puddings, green veg, roast potatoes and gravy. Desserts and coffee were also way above average. Friendly efficient service and a relaxed atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our Sunday Roasts at The Green, Clerkenwell. All four of us chose the chicken, and they were indeed generous with the seasonal buttered vegetables, gravy and roast potatoes to accompany. Dessert included Bara Brith - traditional Welsh fruit cake - which I don't think I've seen on a menu outside Wales, so that made my day. As I asked for it without cheese (in my view a strange accompaniment) they didn't even charge me for it.

The Green (Clerkenwell, London) was lovely: beautiful pub, great location, delicious food, but service was quite slow and it took ages to pay the bill. I'd definitely go back and recommend it to friends.

Popped in for early dinner on bank holiday monday and were doing a starter & main for £13. Had run out of most starters but happy for us to sub a pudding and were very friendly. Mains delicious - pan fried hake with hollandaise & bacon was partic good and my partner's skirt of beef was v tender. Cheese board only had cheddar - would have preferred a choice of a couple at least & some decent chutney rather than sliced radish but only minor point. Will go back.

We went to The Green, Clerkenwell for Sunday lunch with a group of friends and had a very enjoyable afternoon. Food was excellent (great roast potatoes!) and staff really looked after us - wasn't too busy either so really nice atmosphere. a hidden gem.

The Green in Farringdon. Small, trendy restaurant with good selection on the menu. All dishes looked tasty and reasonably priced. Service was professional although no check back occurred once main arrived. Seating outside would be good in the summer evenings.

More of a pub than a restaurant, The Green has a good range of options and food was excellent - particularly the lamb. Only slight niggle was that sitting by the window on a hot evening meant we got the occasional waft of cigarette smoke but only a minor grumble.
