We ate at Tour D'y Voire, Brussels on a Saturday evening. It has a lovely relaxed ambience and the food was exquisite, I'd definitely recommend it.

We were here for Valentines Day. What a disaster! When I booked through toptable and when we arrived I told them in 2 languages that my girlfriend was Vegetarian. They still brought her scollops. They then replaced this with steamed asparagus and broccoli! When the main meal finally arrived 2 HOURS after sitting down, they just gave her the same veg but a bigger portion. The service was terrible. Didn't even offer us drinks. I was going to propose to my girlfriend but didnt in the end. Awful!!!!

I have tried twice to describe our 2009 NYE at Tour D'y Voir but 500 characters does not allow me to do justice to how poor the service was. The waiting staff were so inept they couldn't deliver the set menu (not even a la carte!) to diners within 5 hours. We eventually left after 6 of the 7 courses at 12.50am after grabbing our coats and dashing out to see the fireworks at 12. The ambience was spoiled by the belly dancer, which cemented in my mind how much of a joke this place is.

We had a fantastic time at the restaurant on our day trip to Brussels. The food & service were both excellent. Most of the party went for the 'Chef's Surprise' 3 course fixed price (40 Euro) menu. There were no complaints ! We adjourned to the lounge area for coffee but were so confortable decided to stay for some more drinks whilst some of the group popped out to visit the shops. We then got the bus right outside back to Brussels Midi station for our return Eurostar train.

Characterful and interesting building. Food all well cooked, some meals memorably delicious, like the scallop starter. All four of us felt the vegetables let each meal down - boiled and boring. Only one of us had the 'surprise' menu and if we went again, would not order it again. Your surprise may be what the kitchen has excess of and needs to use up.

The Tour D'y Voir in Brussels is a great choice for a meal. We tried their surprise menu, one meat and one vegetarian. The meat meal was excellent, the vegetarian was good and would have been great with some sauce on the main course, which was a version of a pasta primvera. Wine list is good and in general the price, for Brussels, is not expensive for what you get. The location is ideal for anyone staying in central Brussels. I would recommend it.

13 of us went on a day trip to Brussells and lunched at the delightfully eccentric Tour D'y Voir. Most of us went for the Special menu, basically say what you can't/won't eat, and the chef will come up with something you can. I ended up with poissin in a rich sauce, and an excellently cooked fillet. Appetiser, dessert and good wine included too. The a la carte brigade chose either fish or the excellent ham hock. My one complaint, excrutiatingly slow service.

Tour D'y Voir, Brussels. A gem of a place. 50EURO per person for 5 beautifully presented and delicious courses, including a bottle of excellent wine. The service was first class - attentive and friendly yet unobtrusive. Particular mention must go to the the "surprise" option on the menu... select meat, fish or vegetable, and let the chef choose your dish, meaning your evening can also be an adventure. If you're looking to treat yourself, I can't recommend this place enough.
