great meal! the waitresses are the sweetest things you will ever meet! i recommend you have a look at their special menu which has some really adventurous dishes. we had the volcano chicken. it comes with a shot of sambuca which was poured over the chicken and lit. this gave it a lovely smokey flavour. lastly, dont think its fair to blame them for the card machine not working on that night, we all know how technology can be so unreliable! will return very soon!

Never had such bad experience at previous Toptable restaurants before! The prawns were not fresh, fish overcooked, the curry was so diluted & the chicken meat wrapped in leaves was too dry. Possibly the worst Thai meal we had. Be warned to go with some cash in your wallet as the Papaya Tree claimed that their card machine has been having problems and we will have to pay by cash. One of the couple next to us had to get to the ATM nearby and returned to pay with cash while the girlfriend waited!

Food is good but the service is a bit slow. We were there on a very quiet Wednesday evening, only two tables being served and yet the starters took 25 minutes to arrive. Portions are not very generous, but yet are tasty.

Really enjoyed this place. Went there as a group of 6 friends. We had Set meal A, which after the 20% off card worked out at about £20 quid a head for wine, rice, starters, 5 mains to share and desert. Brilliant value given how well cooked the mains were - very tender meat and perfect vegetables. Service was about the best I'd ever seen.

The Papaya Tree offered us great food for an acceptable price. The service was impeccable and we had a lovely relaxing evening with too much jasmin tea :)

Apart from the vegetable spring rolls, the food is amazing! Both the green and the red chicken curries are some of the best ive ever had. And at lunch time they come with rice for only £6 which ia really good value i think. Perhaps there could be more chicke in them though. Service is good, and ambiance is cosy in this little basement. Because its quite hidden away, its usually not too busy which is nice. Definitely recommend it if you're on high at ken ans fancy Thai. Its the best thai around this area!
