In this vast and wonderful space on the via Filippino Lippi in Milan is an eccentric and über-stylish restaurant designed by architect Marco Fournier. Part chic café, part Milan Furniture Fair showroom, EDA is a surprisingly affordable foodie hang-out for Milan's art-collecting classes and the couture-clad clientele are as interesting to look at as the insouciant interior design. In a stark contrast to the setting, the unabashedly traditional food at EDA is inspired by the chef's grandmother's recipe book, and the traditional fare has won acclaim from critics and culture vultures alike. EDA is famous for its Sunday brunches which are accompanied by live classical music, and we highly recommend the pasta alla Norma with aubergine and ricotta, and the peach tarte Tartin.
