Hidden deep in the heart of Medieval Florence, Angels Restaurant and Wine Bar is a welcome surprise for those who need a change of historical scene. It might be a stone’s throw from the 15th century Duomo, but this futuristic restaurant is a cathedral of hip, with a mood-lit space and high vaulted ceilings that are more about martinis than the Medici. Inside, beautiful Florentine fashionistas meet at the sleek American bar to sip champagne and nibble on antipasti in a modern-day Fellini fantasy. But while the vibe - and crowd - at Angels Restaurant and Wine Bar are molto trendy, the food is still hearty enough to fill you up. The popular Sunday brunch is a spread of classic international treats such as omelettes and luscious crepes, while the restaurant’s regularly changing, seasonal lunch and dinner menu is built resolutely around the sunshine flavours of traditional Tuscan cooking.

Stylish resturant but not much substance. Food hit and miss, eg lamb is good but fried mackeral bland. Service is adequate but not friendly and there is no interest in asking whether you enjoyed your dinner. Try to pour you glass of preseco as you arrive almost like a welcome drink, be aware it is not a welcome drink you are charged for it. In summary it needs to sort out consistency in its food and for its waiting staff to show an interest in its customers . Expensive and not worth it, there are plenty of better resturants for the same money.

cannot fault this restaurant service was very good.All 3 course very tasty the restaurant itself is very chic and stylish the only minor complaint with my meal was the steak was a little bit tough but overall very good.would recommend for a anniversary special occasion.

We booked Angels for a Valentines treat. The set menu was 60EUR each for 4 courses. This included a glass of champagne, water, wine and coffee. The food was v good. A perfect evening apart from the lack of service. No one to greet us when we arrived, so we had to seat ourselves. We were brought our 1st and 2nd course but had to wait approx 1hr for our mains even after being asked 3 x what we were waiting for. Great not to be rushed but disappointing to be forgotten about, otherwise enjoyable.
