About Le Cassoulet

Causing a stir in South Croydon, Le Cassoulet opened its doors in February 2008 as Head Chef Malcolm John’s second venture. Awarded a prestigious Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide in 2009, and regularly wowing critics, Le Cassoulet has become a firm favourite with discerning diners in the surrounding area. A country-style French bistro, Le Cassoulet offers the best of rustic French cuisine based on the dishes and specialities of South West France. The ambience is warm and intimate, and the service friendly and charming. The wide-ranging menu changes seasonally to ensure fresh produce at all times. We love the fillet of wild sea bass, braised fennel, saffron potatoes & bisque; and the côte de boeuf with sauce béarnaise.

Signature dish

Duck & pork cassoulet.

Sample dishes

  • Escargots de bourgogne
  • Cassoulet of duck & pork

Another tasty meal! For starters I had the burgundy snails & spinach with a garlicy crème. This was wonderfully made and tickled the tastebuds! For main I went for the Ravioli – delicious! The portion sizes were perfect and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and the atmosphere calming after a hard day in the office making it a great choice of venue to catch up with friends. This restaurant is a great find that never fails to impress.. I will definitely be visiting again!

We went with friends to Le Cassoulet in South Croydon and once inside you could think you were in France. We had set Sunday lunch menu with good choice for each course.I had potted spiced skate to start, followed by confit of duck with spiced cherries, for dessert chocolate marquise. The food was beautifully cooked and full of flavour. There is a comprehensive wine list. The waiter was very attentive. It was a wonderful dining experience and great value and we will definitely be going back.
