About Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester

toptable Dining Awards 2010 - Runner-up: Over £45 and Celebrity Chef Restaurant.

The three Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester represents a new approach to fine dining. Professionalism and attention to detail are always paramount, but there is a new aura of whimsy and pleasure as well. The spectacular, elegant interior - by Patrick Jouin - and breathtaking dining experience has enchanted London’s foodies. An ideal and affordable way to sample the contemporary French cuisine is the set lunch menu, highlighting seasonal products. Favourite dishes include langoustine ravioli with shellfish in a ginger-lemongrass and smoked tea consommé, heart of black Angus rump steak studded with bacon, boulangére potatoes, and chocolate-coffee pleasure. The stunning Table Lumière is a striking private room for six people only, surrounded by a luminescent curtain -- the new must-try dining experience.

Signature dish

Roasted rib, saddle and kidney of milk-fed lamb, purple artichokes, soft garlic croquettes.

Sample dishes

  • Scottish langoustine salad, coral jus (grosses langoustines d’Ecosse en salade tiède, jus coraillé), £10 supplement

Went for a mid-week lunch and chose from the set menu. I have to say that we tried many other 'top' restaurants in London and this was by far and away the best experience we've had. The atmosphere was just right - not stuffy; service was charming and extremely efficient and the food was just perfect - ran rings around Marcus Wareing where we also ate earlier in the week.

Looked forward to Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester having had a wonderful experience at Alain Ducasse in New York.. Table was disappointing, on the outskirts.] We had the tasting menu, some of which was very good but two courses[including duck] were disappointing. The staff were very attentive and pleasant though so quietly spoken it was difficult to make out what they were saying. Set lunch menu would have been a better option than expensive tasting menu. Expectations were perhaps too high
