About Hibiscus

Chef Claude Bosi originally opened Hibiscus in Ludlow, where he won his first Michelin star in 2001 and a second three years later. In 2007, the restaurant was relocated to Maddox Street where it has become one of London’s most celebrated dining destinations. Having trained under top French chefs like Alain Passard and Alain Ducasse, Claude’s cooking has an unmistakably Gallic flourish and a strong sense of seasonality. His menu features show-stopping dishes like foie gras parfait; roast black bream stuffed with girolles; and confit leg of Brittany rabbit. The dining room is an understated and elegant space, allowing the fine wine and flawless food to take centre stage. Suitable for business lunches and romantic dinners alike, Hibiscus offers a truly unforgettable experience.

Signature dish

Confit leg of Brittany rabbit with an English mustard crust, summer vegetables and wasabi.

Sample dishes

  • Pork (cured acorn fed pork cheek, ‘pachino’ melon, lemon verbena oil, Berkshire crayfish)
  • Veal (roast rack of Norfolk veal, white miso, aubergine and peanut butter caviar, boulangere potatoes, bonito jus)
  • Chocolate (Hibiscus ‘tarte au chocolat’, Indonesian basil ice cream)

Hibiscus (London) had excellent food and very attentive service. I don't think I've ever been served by so many different people at one meal. The wine steward was particularly amusing. And the different courses all had lovely flavors and presentation. The one drawback was the rather boring, generic interior decorating... though luxurious, not much character. But I suppose some people like that. The special menu deal was still expensive, but probably worth it.

We dined at Hibiscus in London with clients last Thursday and I can happily say that they felt that the food and service was excellent . . . Personally I felt the Scallops were overpowered by the accompaniments . . . but with good wine, great mains and frankly outstanding desserts - they're forgiven. Recommended without qualification which at £65 a head for lunch, it really ought to be!

Took my boyfriend for his 50th birthday. Went for eight courses menu and was not disappointed. Great combination of flavours with flair and we had a fantastic evening out.
