About Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill

London’s classic seafood powerhouse has been bought out and revamped by the talented Richard Corrigan of Michelin-starred Lindsay House fame. The handsomely cut masculine dark woods and crisp white tablecloths ooze charm; and the air of traditional, polished and perfected Britishness matches one of the best seafood finds in town. Start off by comparing a selection of Rock and Native oysters (for which Bentley’s is justifiably famous) and move on to a marine-inspired take on beef Wellington with monkfish with cep duxelle wrapped in pastry. To go here and not sample the cracking fresh seafood would be somewhat asking to going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower.

Signature dish

Grilled wild salmon with Jersey Royals and Hollandaise.

Sample dishes

  • Sketrick Island oysters, dozen, £18.00
  • Roast line caught cod, summer vegetables and herb broth, £17.50
  • Caramelised apple tart, £7.50

Overall our first dining experience at Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill was very disappointing. -How can an oyster bar run out of oysters, especially on a Saturday night? Of the 3 types of oysters on the menu, 2 types were unavailable and we were advised there were no delivery that day -Cover charge was levied in addition to service charge - i have never been to another London restaurant with cover charge -Rather expensive at ₤88pp for what we had -Service was slow and had to be prompted

The downstairs / outside area is much nicer or "cooler". The upstairs dining room where we sat was a bit old fashioned and felt slightly stuffy. Food quality was excellent though you pay for it. Service was also good, the sommelier in particular being very helpful.

Lovely as ever. I could eat anything on this menu. Oysters superb. Fishpie was a little more gooey than it normally is so had extra chips to dip in. Very indulgent!
