About 101 Brasserie and Bar

Moments from Manchester’s theatres in the centre of the city, the 101 Brasserie and Bar combines formal restaurant style dining with informal bar. With its long curving bar facing out to Portland Street, 101 is ideal for those relaxed after work drinks enjoyed once settled in to the venue’s cosy booths or sofas. While the Lounge Menu offers delicious light bites, cakes and pastries to be enjoyed alongside beers, wines, tea or coffee, more substantial meals come courtesy if head chef Tim Lewis. Having personally sourced the best ingredients from the North West, Lewis has created a simple but flavoursome menu, his ethos based on uncomplicated food letting flavours speak for themselves.

Signature dish

Baked trout fillet, buttered green vegetables and a lemon and herb-butter.

Sample dishes

  • Grilled Atlantic mackerel, potato and fennel tartar, mustard seed dressing
  • Rump of bowland lamb, wilted summer cabbage, H.Greaves pancetta, chantenay carrots and a smoked oil potato purée
  • Baked chocolate mousse, cherry jam served with a homemade shortbread biscuit

The 101 Brasserie and Bar in Manchester provides a warm welcome, great food, great service and relaxed atmosphere. The food and drinks menu are well balanced and simple and 2 courses for £14.95 was definately a bonus. We arrived early for drinks and never at anytime felt we were on a time limit. Would recommend a visit.

Reviewer AB  -  foodie

The 101 Brasserie and Bar in Manchester is a nice, well decorated restaurant. The food was very nice; nothing extravagant or expectacular, but above average. With the 25% discount that we got (offer for that weekend), it ended up being a rather nice and for a very good value meal.
