About La Clef des Champs

toptable Dining Awards 2010 - Runner Up: Best International Venue.

La Clef des Champs restaurant is one of Brussels’ favourites. Down a narrow street off the Place du Grand Sablon, in one of the city’s irresistibly charming districts, this intimate, romantic restaurant has a large terrace outside where, if weather permits, you can complete the illusion that you’re in the south of France. Run by the charming Bouillots, monsieur cooks and madame greets you at the door. This is authentic Lyonnais and Provencal cooking, changing seasonally. Try ravioli of crab in light curry sauce, cassoulette of ris de veau with port and mushroom jus, or enjoy a quite incredible cassoulet. The wine list includes some lesser-known labels that deserve discovery.

Signature dish

Chicken liver terrine (home made)

Sample dishes

  • Lentil salad from Le Puy
  • Roast leg of duck and onion marmalade
  • Apple pie and ice cream

La Clef des Champ in Brussels A friendly great place for proper dinning. food was unpretentious and delicious. the service was friendly and unhurried. I plan on returning and would recommend it. Outside is nice if you have the weather but we ate inside and enjoyed the atmosphere. I started with the calf sweetbread with morels and port and was very impressed - it was fantastic. For the main I had the guinea fowl which was equally mouth watering.

The Grand Place is not the only golden thing in Brussels-La Clef des Champs far outshines it; offering most affordable fine dining with even finer service. We were greeted with glasses of bubbles, amuse bouche & happy smiles to go with the happy lunch! Anne rivals Elena at London’s famous Elena's L'Etoile for the title of Europe’s favourite hostess & the food is delicious- what more can one want. We will return and so should you.
