About Dans Le Noir?

Nothing can prepare you for the uniqueness of Dans Le Noir? restaurant in London’s Farringdon. It works like this: you meet in the tall-ceilinged entrance bar, put your phones and anything else that might emit light into a locker, then order from the ‘surprise’ menu. The waitstaff at Dans le Noir? then lead you through three sets of black drapes to your table in a completely darkened room. You can’t see a thing. Nothing. You rely wholly on the remaining four senses, and the blind waiter or waitress assigned to you. You’ve never tasted French-inspired international cuisine quite this way before, that’s for sure. And because you can’t see who’s next to you, everyday judgments at Dans le Noir? are removed and chatting to your neighbours becomes irresistible. Will you find it sensuous? Romantic? Thought-provoking? And might this be the perfect restaurant for a blind date? An unforgettable experience.

Dans Le Noir, London - food okay and bit pricey, but worth a visit for the experience - bit strange to start off with, but soon get used to it. Very helpful waiter. one time visit place, but worth a go.

going to DansleNoir can be a bit scary, it really is pitch black in there and don't hope that your eyes will get used to it! But after a few unsettling minutes, it really is a interesting experience. The blind waiter was very nice and it's quite an experience to notice him moving around as if it was broad daylight. The food was good (although not using the fingers and relying on fork/knife only can be challenging). Only negative comment is that it's a bit pricey...
