toptable Dining Awards 2010 - Runner-up: Over £45
Tucked into a quite mews in London’s Mayfair, The Greenhouse restaurant is a Michelin-starred oasis of calm and excellence. Through dedication, hard work and immaculate attention to detail, The Greenhouse has been a favourite with locals and savvy Londoners for more than 25 years. Chef Antonin Bonnet uses the finest seasonal ingredients, naturally, in a frequently changing menu that takes the foundations of fine French cuisine and overlays them with an exquisitely sensitive touch. There’s a touch of the Far East and Middle East in Bonnet’s inventions, like the signature Saddle of lamb and raz-el-anout, sultana chutney, trumpet courgette and cinnamon couscous. The Greenhouse has one of the largest wine lists in the UK, featuring over 2,500 fantastic bins and it is one of a handful of restaurants to have won the Wine Spectator Grand Award every year since 2005. Lunch has quite a corporate crown, dinner is relaxed, and both are busy.
