About Launceston Place

toptable Dining Awards 2010 - Runner-up: Hidden Gems.A Kensington institution, Launceston Place was brought under the D&D wing in 2007 and has been returned it to its former glory as a Great British destination restaurant. Intimate both in its setting and its atmosphere, Launceston Place lends itself to romantic dinners a deux and grown up meals with grown up friends. With work from up and coming artists hanging on the walls set against warm, sophisticated chocolate tones throughout, the feel is contemporary living room meets chic gallery. Tristan Welch's menu showcases quintessential British classics, with hits such as sirloin of long horn beef 'cobbler' with Lincolnshire cheddar and Guinness, or drunken quail, flambéed at the table to add a touch of food theatre. Don't miss the rather spectacular Sunday roast with all the trimmings.

Signature dish

Champagne-poached salmon, seasonal vegetable salad.

Sample dishes

  • Smoked duck and wild herb salad
  • Rose veal rump, nettles, pickled mushrooms
  • Rice pudding soufflé, raspberry ripple ice cream

Great experience at Launceston Place, amazing service and the food was gorgeous. The £20 lunch menu is great value as you get so much for your money. The wine list is very extensive. As usual, it's the drinks that bumps the bill right up but the food makes it worth it.

Launceston Place. Lunch deal again exceeded expectation - one of the most enjoyable meals we've had. Treated to exquisite small off-menu tasters we didn't expect. Due to a chef error, even had a try of three deserts! Our beef/beetroot risotto + duck egg/truffle starters almost overwhelming with delicate yet intense flavours. Pork crubeens + mackerel/pickle mains hearty and rich. Deserts excellent. Smoked chocolate/ice cream amazing. Service superb, unpretentious. Amazing value for money.

First class food and wonderful service. Dishes were delicious and immaculately presented. A little pricey, especially as you don't have an option to order a la carte - it's either £45 for 3 courses or £58 for a tasting menu. Wine list extensive but very pricey as well. Great for a special occasion but wouldn't recommend otherwise.
