With a number of lovely rooms to choose from the historic yet contemporary Kardos is often host to groups celebrating and meeting, for business or pleasure. With fully air conditioned premises the four rooms available to hire are comfortable with attractive surroundings and all, of course, benefit from great food for anything from 20 to 140 guests.

About Kardos

In central Vienna the Kardos Restaurant invites you on an exciting culinary trip. Enter through the original Siebenberger door to a world of Viennese charm, find a wealth of character inspired by Hungary, Austria, Slovenia and beyond. Here traditional artworks by Franz Zelezny, dating to 1912 hang on the walls, there one hundred year old flower patterned plates give authentic charm. The old-world meets the new in a fusion of wood, glass and light, a superb reflection of the Kardos family and their gastronomic history dating back more than 100 years. Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Bohemia and the Balkans are represented on a varied menu which is a taste of home for many and a taste of foreign lands for others.

Very good and authentic Hungarian food. Try Marhagulas for the most authentic. Csirke porkolt (chicken gulas/stew) is also very nice. The ambience is very cosy with old-fashioned wood. Definitely a recommendation for a nice dinner in Vienna. Close to beach-bar Hermann afterwards!

Kardos in Vienna was a real find. Easy to locate in a quiet central street, dark wooden panelling with historical prints and artefacts made for a warm atmosphere. Pleasant, attentive service and delicious food. Family both had mixed grill which was more than adequate, I had one of the range of Goulashes which was absolutely delicious, beef and mushrooms in a rich, wine sauce. Prices were very reasonable. I would definitely go back, and recommend this restaurant.
