Set just south of the centre of South End in Croydon, Albert's Table is a charming restaurant serving quality British food. Run by chef/owner Joby Wells, who trained at The Square and The Orrery, Albert's Table is a relaxed venue that is always buzzing with a business lunch trade, and a well-heeled gourmet-loving crowd in the evenings. Spacious and calm, the Victorian dining room is dressed up with wooden tables, cosy corduroy banquettes and large colourful photographs of the English countryside printed on canvas. Locals love the Hampshire pork with butternut squash, fondant potatoes, cabbage and sage; the bread and butter pudding with rum and raisins; and the reasonably priced wine list.
