Butlers Wharf Chop House was great for a Saturday lunch and superb value with the toptable menu. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of choice for a set menu. Also the wine list was good value, particularly the bin end opportunities. All in all a lovely afternoon and the sticky toffee pudding is dangerously good!!

Hotel du Vin & Bistro

Hotel du Vin was fabulous. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairs and with the toptable offer it was great value. The staff were friendly and service was charming and efficient.

Tom Ilic

Tom Ilic is 5 mins walk from our house so it is great to support local restaurants. Great value, well priced wine list, the degustation of pork was fabulous and the white chocolate cheesecake was superb. Super service and unobtrusive staff. Would recommend

Frere Jacques

Frere Jacques was a lovely venue to have a nice meal on the river. Service was friendly but slowish, the pan fried foie gras could have done with being warmer and the mayo had been left out of the fridge.

Pearl by Jun Tanaka

The piano playing a medley of 80s/90s morisette reminded of the Hilton Innsbruck - not a good comparison! There was also a hen party who were in the bar but sitting at certain tables in the restaurant is like sitting in a hotel lobby. Noisy and disconcerting. The food was indeed a triumph of style over substance - technically well executed and beautifully presented but just lacked taste. Overall an overpriced disappointment.

Chez Bruce

As locals Chez Bruce never seems to let us down. The lunch was lovely and a comprehensive selection of wines by the glass meant we could match our dishes and our wine rather than ploughing through a bottle at lunch. would recommend.

Coq d'Argent - Bank

Coq D'argent is a real City classic. Amazingly busy on a Thursday night - the £23 menu was great value - although can't say that about the wine! would recommend
