We say…

Crawling with chic customers for schmoozy business lunches, and a smart designer-clad set for evening meals, this Michelin-starred mecca is the de rigeur dining destination for Mayfair fund managers, Vogue House fashionistas and media moguls. Maze is the Grosvenor Square jewel in Gordon Ramsay's restaurant-empire crown, and the French/Asian cuisine at Maze is as famous as the David Rockwell interior and carefully choreographed mise-en-scène. Executive Chef Jason Atherton has earned his stripes with a stellar menu featuring signature dishes such as the tuna tartare with toasted pine nuts, chilli, Tashkin mint and Bloody Mary sorbet; and the pot-roasted Royal Berkshire pork cheeks with broad beans and new season parsnip purée.

Signature dish

Grilled loin of yellow fin tuna with creamed-parsnips and black pepper sauce.

We had the chef's 6 course menu which was good value compared to a la carte as it was a "best of". The onion soup with braised chicken, the pork cheek n belly and the peanut butter cherry jelly sandwich were our favorites. Unfortunately the only dish that wasn't good was the complimentary choc birthday cake. It was a solid block that we could barely cut into. All the diners were treated to a tour of the kitchen, which was a very nice surprise. The tables would've benefited from a candle.

Maze was, in one word - AMAZING! Service was just right, friendly, informative and not too often. Each dish was cooked to perfection, I had the braised octopus to start which was tender and not to chewy, the lamb with shepards pie main course was very well balanced and perfectly flavoured. While the monkfish and bitter chocolate desert were the best i've tasted. Would highly recommend and go again but only on a special occassion because of cost, with drinks you're looking at £100 per head

This was quite possibly the nicest food I have eaten in any London restaurant and the service was seamless. Every dish was like a work of art and absolutely delicious. Service was perfect - friendly yet discreet. A fantastic night - I cannot recommend Maze strongly enough!
