We say…

Skylon restaurant in London’s landmark Royal Festival Hall is a hot destination eatery, a new classic with a modern twist. Inspired by the emblematic sculpture of the 1951 Festival of Britain, Skylon is a stylish restaurant on a grand scale, with formal dining room, smart casual grill and centerpiece bar, each a blend of 1950’s-inspired chic and modern design, all with sweeping Thames panoramas through floor-to-ceiling windows. Rising star Helena Puolakka, erstwhile Harvey Nick’s Fifth Floor executive chef, employs seasonal ingredients to create modern Euro-Brit menus, with signature dishes like butter-poached lobster with grapefruit and cashew nut salad. The year 1951 is feted in 1950’s vintage wines, archetypal 1950’s-era cocktails, and two-course £19.51 lunch menu.

Signature dish

Confit leg of duck, braised red cabbage, red wine jus.

Went for dinner with friends to Skylon Grill in London. Fabulous ambience, one of the places in London to go for ambience and atmosphere. Service was great, food was delicious. Will go back many times that is for sure.

This was a perfect venue for a light lunch. The food was lovely and the service excellent. Loved the views and that there was plenty of light in the restaurant from the large windows. Finding the bathroom, for which you have to leave the restaurant, would be my only criticsm. The prices were fair for the quality received.

The views from Skylon across the river are truly spectacular! It's worth going for the views alone...but the food is beautifully presented and good, although perhaps a little on the pricey side. Very convenient if you are going to a concert at the RFH or a play at the National, though!
