Party & group booking

The husband-and-wife team who created the Olive Branch not only have dedication on their side, they also have experience: Stuart has been part of some of Edinburgh's top eateries, the Witchery, Tower, and Zinc. The ambience here is relaxed and informal, perfect for birthdays, celebrations, work wind-downs, and holiday meals. There's no private room, but up to 40 can be accommodated in the main dining room, an attractive modern bistro. Dishes from the Mediterranean menu include starter of lamb and pepper skewers with cherry tomato, feta and mint salad, main course of baked cod in parma ham with caper and ill butter, and dessert of vanilla and honey cheesecake.

We say…

Set on a busy corner where New Town meets boho Broughton, The Olive Branch Bistro is painted olive green, just so you won't miss it. The ambience here is one that people truly enjoy, informal, relaxed, but also friendly and romantic. With exposed-brick walls, smart modern bistro seating and huge windows through which you can watch the world go by, The Olive Branch Bistro is a favourite not only for lunch and dinner, but also weekend brunch. The Mediterranean menu includes starter of charred smoked salmon with parmesan, rocket and balsamic vinegar, main course of Crombies sausages with sweet potato mash and red pepper sauce, although you can also opt for a great burger, and dessert of killer banoffee crepes. Very reasonable wines.

Reviewer AM  -  grazer

We ate pre-theatre at Olive Branch Edinburgh on Sat and can recommend it for casual dining. Food was good, atmosphere relaxed, service friendly & helpful. We both agreed food was tasty, and enjoyed the meal, but boyfriend commented on the rather small portion of fish (not many chips with it either) and he's not a huge eater. The ladies loos really let the place down. Ugh! I was greeted with a truly nasty pong, broken loo seat and fatally cracked cistern lid. Very unpleasant, sort it out OB!
