We say…

Spacious and understated elegance are the hallmarks of Shanghai Blues, in a former library within a grade II listed building. The restaurant, in Holborn, has high ceilings and muted tones with a contemporary twist on traditional Shanghai décor. It feels ultra-spacious, yet intimate. The restaurant specialises in Shanghai Dim Sum and seafood, of which there is a vast range.

Signature dish

The speciality here is dim sum

Sample dishes

  • Dim Sum basket (consists of prawn, scallop, salmon & vegetable dumplings
  • Wok-fried fresh lobster in shanghai sea-spice & chilli. Served in shell, with noodles, £45.00
  • A selection of desserts is available.

I had drinks and dim sum at the mezzanine level at Shanghai Blues with my boyfriend - it was relaxed and private yet you can still see people dining underneath. I would go back again.

Bar area was great, with Live Jazz sounds in the background and a great cocktail list, however once through into the restaurant lots of children were running around the tables screaming and playing with toys on the floor! it wasnt something you expected to see on a saturday night (9pm), it totally ruined the atmosphere. The food was ok, we had the tasting menu however everything seemed to be deep fried so it all tasted the same more or less!
