Party & group booking

Elche caters for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, promotions, hen parties… they love a party! When background music isn’t being played then it probably means you’re being entertained with live flamenco music and dancing. Maximum capacity is 180 standing, or 130 seated. Up to 12 people can sit together on a single table, while up to 70 can join a group booking, with other diners in the restaurant. A three-course set menu costs £17.50 a head.

We say…

Elche Restaurante de Tapas may sound somewhat exotic a place for Leytonstone, but that’s because it’s a Spanish restaurant named after the Lady of Elche, an ancient Iberian sculpture. As colourful on the inside as it is on the outside, this charismatic place serves a generous range of good value hot and cold tapas, many of them vegetarian. Specials include crab claws in bread crumbs, and house salad. The best night to go is Friday night when flamboyant flamenco is performed from 8.45pm. Apparently, to really appreciate this ancient Spanish art you must be in an intimate setting with good friends, food and wine. Sounds good to us.

Sample dishes

  • Pata de cangrejo con alioli (crab claws wrapped in filo pastry), £5.50
  • Chuleta de ternera (t-bone steak with potatoes and salad), £19.50
  • A selection of desserts is available.

El Che is the best tapas restaurant in the area. Service is always swift and friendly, and the food is tasty - I would certainly recommend.

was not overly impressed with the food at Elche. The staff were very friendly and attentive but it just disappointed that the food didn't match up. would go back for a main meal but not the tapas just were not as fresh as they could have been. The wine was great! also enjoyed the sangria :)
