Cigala’s tapas bar area has low seating and tables can be made separate from the main dining room - perfect for more exclusive gatherings. This area can accommodate 50 people standing and the main restaurant can seat between 50 to 70 people. The excellent food, fine wine and laid-back vibe makes it a great choice for business lunches, birthday parties and special occasions.

    We say…

Located between Russell Square and Holborn, Cigala is a dream come true if you’re craving authentic Spanish food. Owner and chef Jake Hodges was one of the founders of the legendary Moro in Clerkenwell, so it’s no surprise that his own eatery is very popular with London’s foodies. The menu features classic Spanish dishes like hearty pork, chorizo and bean stew; prawns with garlic and chilli; and delicious paella with monkfish. The friendly service and stylish décor make Cigala the ideal setting for mid-week dinners with friends and family. At lunchtime, you can pop in for a few dishes from their traditional tapas menu and a glass or two from the excellent wine list. We know you’ll be back for more!

    Sample dishes

    • Calamares a la plancha (grilled squid with mojo sauce), £8.00
    • Paella de pollo y chorizo (rice with chicken and chorizo) for 2 to share, £16.00 per person
    • Tarta de chocolate (chocolate, hazelnut and sherry cake), £6.00

Cigala, hidden away. Nothing spectacular from the outside, you may walk past it! However, once inside, a lovely little place. Ambience and service good. The food was awesome! Best steak ever! Highly recommended.

Cigala, London. Cigala consistently offers high-quality food. The menu - both the tapas and the main courses - changes regularly. The bread is fresh and wonderful. At the moment, the lamb with garlic quince is absolutely delicious. We also really like the tarta al whisky for desert. Cigala never fails to impress.
